This sheet of four stamps was issued in 2007 by the Peruvian government to celebrate the “Traditional Costumes and Dances of Peru” (Trajes y Bailes Típicos de Perú). Depicted are three masked dances and one costumed dance (the Danza de las Tijeras, or Dance of the Scissors). The costumed dances are: La Danza de los Negritos (Dance of the Little Black Men), La Danza Cápac Colla (also written Qhapaq Qolla, meaning in Quechua the Dance of the Powerful Natives), and the Danza Diablada (Dance of the Devils).
