This stamp is part of a set of seven issued by Mongolia in 1971 to celebrate the traditional Tsam Hindo-Buddhist masked dance. This is one of several sets of Mongolian postage stamps featuring Tsam masks issued after the fall of Communism.  This stamp depicts Damdinchoijoo, also known as Yama, the god of death, who judges whether the dead descend to the underworld to rise to paradise.
