This sheet of postage stamps, issued by the government of Vatican City in 1997, celebrates the classical tradition of masked drama.  Depicted on the stamps are six masks of ancient Roman theater. Such masks would have been made of leather, lined with cloth, and finished with wigs and beards of horsehair.
