This stamp is part of a set of seven issued by Mongolia in 1971 to celebrate the traditional Tsam Hindo-Buddhist masked dance. This is one of several sets of Mongolian postage stamps featuring Tsam masks issued after the fall of Communism. This stamp appears to depict Arslan, the fierce lion god who is the servant of Llamos (Lkham). She is one of several gods who began as a demon witch and converted to the Lamaist doctrine.
